Male; young adult (2 years)
Build - lanky; smaller and weaker than most lions
Mane - sparse/thin

Positives - ambitious, persevering,
Negatives - rude, deceitful/cunning, stubborn, childish
He is egotistical, and rather enjoys complements. He doesn't get too cocky around other males; he knows he is the weaker lion; and prefers to avoid conflict when possible. He fights more with words than teeth; putting on airs and bluffing; though usually ineffectively. His pride was hurt deeply when he was exiled, and he likes to act as if he's more important than he actually is to compensate. He will generally dislike others and treat them poorly; viewing them as enemies in some way, shape, or form. He is very loyal and caring to those important to him, though he usually hides it, as it makes him feel weak in front of others. Out of all his flaws, he considers his compassion towards his companions his greatest weakness.
Griffon:

Positives - responsible, loyal, protective
Negatives - remorseless, unforgiving
He's rather quiet; he doesn't say much. Though he may appear threatening, he is usually rather gentle to peaceful beings. His extreme loyalty and protectiveness for Clyde can make him very brutal with enemies; as he does not want to let anything happen to his best friend. As the stronger of the two, he assumes responsibility for keeping Clyde safe.
Backstory - Clyde and Griffon are a pair of rogues exiled from their previous pride. They were close childhood friends before they were exiled, and they view each other as brothers. Clyde was the original heir to the throne, but when it was apparent he would not sufficiently represent the king's bloodline, being too weak, he was exiled from the pride to allow his younger brothers to take his place. Griffon abandoned the pride to go with Clyde; he worried for his friend, being an inexperienced young lion.
